After a long bout of more bullshit, a return to the river valley in the rain was simply awesome. The ride from Capilano to the entrance to Mackinnon ravine where I was tempted as the ravine lustfully called my name but I knew to turn back. The north side of the river was the main player on this ride because the hills are few and far between. Taking it easy after a mild strain of pneumonia might be considered a good idea.
I was entranced by the sights, and smells of the river valley and being on a bike only enhanced that by about one thousand percent. When I have a long bout of no riding it seems like the first ride is an awakening. Call it an out of body experience, every pedal stroke in the beginning of the ride was met with unspeakable joy. This is what I needed this morning. This was incredible. To think it was a ride on multi use and paved trails, I could not imagine what my mind would have done if I was on dry singletrack.
Here is hoping tomorrow is a "go" for riding...
