Mountains...Nay. River Valley...Yay

A day trip to my ever so beloved Jasper got put on hold with a couple big wheeled dudes, thus a trip with one big wheeled dude in the river valley was in order. A ride from Kinsman to Terwillegar on a rather grand day made me glad I didn`t work today. Sadly Gord had to bow out leaving Jason and his 29er Gary Fisher join me in some good old fashioned riding in the glorious valley.

When you go out for a quick bike ride around the block with your 7 year old daughter in the evening after your ride, and your legs scream as you climb up those short uphills going to the playground, you know you had a good day. We entered Terwillegar and Jason showed me the routes usually run on the Fat Tire Tuesday race series, sadly for me, I almost felt lost as he took so many different turns and quick uses of trail that got us to the next exit and onto a new trail, but only for a quick moment, or so it seemed...

The mountains did not deliver today, but all was good. A rare ride with somebody who can really challenge you is good for the riding "soul" if you will. Riding alone too much will create bad habits, you will get those evil bad habits smashed on a trip with somebody who knows how to ride...
