"I'm Gonna Head East"

The title of this was my last text to Kent as we were meeting at Old Timers and our times were off for the meet so we would meet mid trail.

It was all fine and good when later during texts it was determined that I was in fact heading west and not east  which messed the meet up quite a bit.

Ugh, I can be a real idiot sometimes but thankfully I am coming off nights and just blamed that like I always do.

The ride was quite great for the first one back after a hard week of nights, I stayed mostly on multi use and avoided anything that would be a challenge which made Kent's job of trying to find me all that harder as I was on easy trails rolling away from him.

Prior to the meet up I had a good ice wipeout on the multi use below the university. I soon crossed Hawerlak and turned back and rode the easy climb out from the boardwalk where soon mackinnon singletrack would take me back to the paved before another crash on the switchback due to brake issues on the fat bike. Eventually I found Kent and a dragon plush toy where it was decided it must come home with me and thankfully Kent was there to help me get it on my pack to ride it out. I could have tried to figure out how to mount it but you know... just coming off nights I am a moron.

The ride was low key and slow-paced once together which was perfect and we rode the paved with a splash of singletrack all the way to Tawatinâ bridge where a crossing happened and we started to head back. I had mentioned a Mill Creek visit to trails but wussed out cause you know... night recovery

A pretty decent ride, and apologies to Mr Steeves for the mix up.
