Ice day

An overnight rain had rendered the trails into sheets of ice. Me and all my narcissistic ideas about not needing to ride on studded tires was put to the test today, or shall I say, slapped me in the face. It wasn`t all bad. When I wasn`t riding on ice I had slush to wade through, other then that it was just wet sandy pavement. So yes, if you were to have headed out today, I hope you left your expensive dream bikes home. It was nasty out there.

I think this may have me finally cave and go out and buy a set of spikes for the winter bike. It was plain scary riding on the ice today. I should have just got off and walked the hockey rink sections but that just would not have been cool now would it ? Instead me and my ego slowly glided over the ice and I waited for the eventual split second fall and wondered what it would be like to lie on the ice and stare at my radius bone sticking out of my arm. But no, luckily that never happened.

I traded ice in for sandy wet roads and just did a few rotations up Connor`s. The traffic was heavy for the popular ski/toboggan hill road. The cars passed by peacefully and my tired sore legs begged me to stop. My only scary moment came by when I was descending and a limo was coming up and the driver was turned around completely fixated on the person in the back. I couldn`t help but think of this and giggled.
