The Oliskew Expressway to Mediocrity
A ride that had serious potential was quickly brought down to it's knees all thanks to dead legs and no soul to ride. It started on the upper banks of the valley in close proximity to the Staff College in the middle of suburbia.
Go trail started it off and things were quite great. The lack of foliage on the trees did have me look twice as I thought I missed a turn and was on a different trail. A true sign that two weeks away equals lot's of changes. After hitting the new Terwillegar bridge I entered the Oliskew singletrack and stayed away from Flat Pete and kept it on the original trail.
I was quite smitten in how fast I made it to the Fort Edmonton bridge when you are off the twisty turns on Flat Pete. The original plan was to ride Selkirk but I knew I was done. The legs and the heart were not into this ride one bit.
So up the hill I rode, passing the trail entrance to Selkirk where a very boring trip through suburban sprawl took me back painfully slowly to the Jeep.
