Beer Friday. Howe Sound, Rail Ale Nut Brown

As the beer review team slowly makes their way in from their respective modes of transportation which was covered in detail last review we hope your Saturday was fine. The wet weather finally showed itself and I will admit I had a planned short ride this early afternoon but I wimped out.

I'm weak sauce kids.

As everyone entered the room I asked if there was anything going on in the world and asked for a coronavirus update. Awkward silence and floor stares suddenly filled the dimly light room. "Oh nothing new sir, just the usual 2020 bullshit." said a brave intern.

Guys. This year is bat shit crazy bonkers. To think that all that has gone down so far and we still have an American election with a racist billionaire with no filter and a women groper who cannot completely finish a sentence. All this "alleged" by the way to calm down the Trump and Biden fans.

The current situation south of our border is beyond fucked. If some of you have wondered, yes my sometime ramblings on this blog has me kind of hating white people.

This shit is why. We really are the shittiest race.

My heart goes out to all those affected by racism, the video that started this was unwatchable for myself. I get people tell me I'm lucky to live in Canada and I know they have no idea. Racism is quite big here too. Our natives are treated horribly and everyone just looks the other way. And no, I'm not virtue signalling myself like I'm a great little white boy. I grew up in Alberta and worked in the trades forever. I've had my trash moments in my life. I know most people have. We are human and we are quite flawed.

Wow. I'm sorry, this is turning into a serious downer. And to think I haven't even been watching the news.

I'm calling it "let's pour! Where is Illga?" I exclaimed!

Illga appeared and we opened the one litre bottle and took a good sniff. I got nothing out of this! Another smell and it was determined that my sense of smell was kaput. Look guys... I got nothing and I'm admitting it. I'm sure a good blogger would have just made some sort of whimsical amusing story as to how this one smelled.

But no. this is Lonebiker. I don't know how it smells. It kinda smelled fine but I cannot describe it.  In my defence. It is allergy season.

The pour gave zero head and Illga expertly changed her pour stance to give me a finger for the picture. This is why she is paid a one figure salary kids. Can't get much better than Illga. After the failed smelling attempts I tried it and was content. I did not research this one and was expecting something dark and heavy. This one is darkish and quite light on the palate with undertones of malt and rich chocolate. This one has that heavy look but it's been put on weight watchers. I like it cause its so easy to drink and the light taste of nuts and light caramel with the above mentioned makes this a nice Saturday night special.

This beer gets 3.5 suds out of 5.

Last Ride Resort, Leduc

A quiet and cool ride through the usual local but not local ride in Leduc around Telford Lake and then looped around the cool airplane park...
